Question by Writer: What type of health insurance should I get?
I am a male and a non smoker, but I have had Epilepsy since I was in high school. I need a health insurance for my health. However, I do not know much which type of the health insurance Health group, Community Health Plan or KPS health plan is good for me in Washington State in the US. Now I don’t have a job and I am independent. Would someone give me hand?

If you have epilepsy, then no health insurance company is going to want you as a customer.

You have three options:
1) Live in one of the approximately four states where health insurance companies must take everyone who is willing to pay
2) Get a job that comes with health insurance
3) Get whatever your state offers to anyone who cannot get insurance any other way because of existing medical conditions

Do not waste time looking at different policies that all have the option to reject you, because they all will.

What type of life insurance policy does the military offer?

Question by Ashley: What type of life insurance policy does the military offer?
I’m talking about the Army, in particular. Is it term life insurance, or permanent life insurance?
As of right now, my husband’s job doesn’t put him on the front lines. I already know how much life insurance the policy is for. I’m just trying to figure if I should get life insurance and for how much. Does anyone here know the difference between term and permanent life insurance? That’s all I need to know. Is his life insure term or permanent.

SGLI, which is the Servicemembers Group Life Insurance. Each service member is given a certain amount for free, but you can purchase higher plans if you choose to do so. Talk with your admin section about it. And it’s the same for all branches of service.

What type of medical insurance do doctors in eastern Pennsylvania hate?

Question by kcat: What type of medical insurance do doctors in eastern Pennsylvania hate?
If they had to treat a preemie, for example, what is a medical insurance plan that doesn’t pay for things consistently, doesn’t pay well, etc? If you were a doctor, what type of insurance would you NOT want to deal with?

Medicaid. A lot of physicians don’t accept it. Pays lousy, pays late and covers as little as possible. If I were a doctor it would be Medicaid.

Why is home insurance limited to each and every different type of disaster?

Question by Craptacular Wonderment: Why is home insurance limited to each and every different type of disaster?
The home is either livable or NOT livable…it matters NOT what disaster ruined the home..

Why then is it that you have to pay extra for each different type of circumstance? An accident is an accident…. a disaster is a disaster… the home can only be burned, flooded, distroyed by earthquake / tornado / hurricaine ONCE.. why pay for all the different ways insurance-wise?

How covered is covered? And WHY !!!! Why?? Is it if you Never have any type of claim you aren’t refunded some of that money you spend year after year after year?

Again, once you’ve paid in insurance the amount of the home value.. what difference does it make if you replaced the home ‘money-wise’ already in insurance premiums? Why not spend those premiums on a second home instead?

Just shooting in the dark here of the many complaints I have heard ranted from my elders recently.. their solutions were hysterical.. I’d love to hear more solutions.

You used the words paid, pay, money, spend, and they are all correct. It is all about the money, yours specifically, and how much of it the insurance industry can get (steal).

What type of health insurance should I get if I am self employed?

Question by Nean: What type of health insurance should I get if I am self employed?
Hello I am a healthy female in my early thirties and a non smoker. I need to find decent health insurance that you would get from a good employer. I am new to this and dont understand what I need to have covered for health insurance. I am looking for some good advice and any suggestions. Thank You
P.S- Is it usual that health insurance does not cover maternity?

Answer by mbrcatz
Since the health reform act, insurance companies have pretty much stopped selling maternity coverage. When you CAN buy it, it’s about $ 300 a month extra, and most of the time you have to purchase it a full year becoming pregnant, for it to cover. So yes, it’s normal for maternity to NOT be covered, under an individual policy.

You’re not going to get the same kind of coverage that you would through an employer. On an individual policy, they can exclude coverage for stuff already wrong. If you ARE currently pregnant, you’re uninsurable on an individual plan until after the baby is born (just sayin’, because 95% of the women who mention interest in maternity coverage here, are ALREADY pregnant).

For good advice that’s valid in YOUR area, you should talk to a local agent near you. They’ll know what state you are in, and which deals are best – and they can help you balance coverage and cost to find what you can afford, and they’ll EXPLAIN how it all works. You won’t get that from an online website.
